Haven’t used Tumblr in a while…
Well, it’s been just over 2 months since I last used Tumblr to post something.
I’ve completely given up on the ‘Song A Day’ thing I had going ‘cause I wasn’t really enjoying it in the end and I don’t think anyone really cared as much as I did about some of the songs as some got very little recognition, if any at all.
So, I have no real idea what I’m going to be doing with my Tumblr posting-wise as I still use it to look at posts of people I’m following and all that. All I really know is, this will still be a music-based blog, but probably with some gaming as well, and I’ve pretty much completely gone off reblogging things.
Music-wise, I think I’ll just post anything new (to me). I’m also hoping to record some of my songs that are on my Sound Cloud using the software that I have on my Mac (I’ve been meaning to post an update of my Mac and the other stuff I got free, not that anyone will see it, but y’know) and replacing them with the recorded versions, instead of the exported audio from Guitar Pro 6.
I’m also hoping to get back into writing songs again, as I’ve not written anything in at least a year to a year and a half. I’ve had some ideas bouncing around my head for a while and I’m hoping I can get some sense out of my thoughts and hopefully come up with a project of sorts. I’ll have to come back with another post as to what my ideas might be as I’m thinking of experimenting: I’ve been reading (with interest) into Brian Eno and Ambient Music and lift music for my Uni course. I also got a MIDI keyboard, along with my Mac and the other stuff, so in total I’m looking to see if I can come up with anything good from a combination of Ambient, Electronic, Metal, Rock, Instrumental etc.
On an even more personal note, I’m hoping to start actually doing some exercise as I’ve been driving most of the time around Cardiff since being back at Uni and my laziness is showing. I’ll have to start cycling again and I’ll have to start doing push-ups or something to work my arms ‘cause they are absolutely puny in comparison to my legs, and also sit-ups to get rid of my stomach.
I also actually want to go and do more things, as I usually just sit on my arse watching TV or playing games all day and I used to be happy to do nothing. Now I’m just fed up with it, I don’t want to be lazy forever. Seeing as I have a car and a reasonable amount of money, as a result of student loans, I don’t have many restrictions. My main restriction is: How far do I want to go?
And the final thing for this post: to help with my laziness and lack of wanting to do anything at the moment, I should probably look to get a job. If I’m lucky there may be jobs in the music shops in Cardiff. But if not, a job’s a job.
Right, I think that’ll be it from me for now, don’t know when I’ll be back with another post. We’ll have to wait and see.

First things first. I don’t really like this song much, ‘cause I think the bass-drop ruins it.
But I wanted to post it ‘cause my lecturer painted, quite possibly the best picture for this song. Which was something along the lines of:
“It sounds like a fairy/pixie tea party in a magical forest at the beginning and the b-line is a load of orcs on a psychedelic tractor ploughing through”
My crazy lecturer just played this. I’m surprised he didn’t get up from his chair and dance around the room.
It’s not what I call ‘morning music’.
Didn’t post my ‘Song for the day’ yesterday, ‘cause I couldn’t think of anything good to post.
But the lecture that I’m in now is about Dubstep, so hopefully I’ll have something good to post for the catch-up later on.
This is a beautiful song, I don’t think there are many people who will disagree.
And it’s all played on one bass guitar, but a rather… different bass as it has hip-shots on the bridge and the tuning pegs. (At least I think they’re called hip-shots when they’re on the tuning pegs)

It sort of counts in a way ‘cause they have a song at the beginning… Sort of… It’s enough for me, anyway.
Haven’t posted videos for the past week as I accidentally set my stuff to queue for next month. Oops.

This is the perfect song for me today. Something that I can just sit and listen to, after spending the last couple of days slowly doing the assignment that I had.
And now I’m sat here listening to this and finishing my port. Cheers!
I don’t think there’s a second in this song that I don’t completely love.
Reason being: The way the song’s been layered with the different instruments is just phenomenal. From the very first guitar riff to the second one that plays over the top of the first, the drums in the background from the start.
I could go on listing all the way through this song, but that’s what I had to do with my assignment that was due today, so I’d rather not at the moment. Also Dyspraxia + slight drunkenness = incredibly difficult to phrase things in a logical manner.
But you don’t have to take my word for it. Just take a listen.

I, also, couldn’t think of a song to post on Wednesday. But after drinking some port tonight I got inspiration. And decided to post this song as it was my favourite song by Skrillex when I saw him live last year, and it was brilliant.

Had an email and a text a few hours ago.
